Bring the clean glass into either shop when you are unsure. A few millimeters or the wrong male/female direction can turn the right-looking part into the wrong part.

Measure from the top of the outer male joint toward the submerged tip—not the full glass height.Reducers, expanders, dropdowns, and vaporizer adapters change size, direction, clearance, or device connection.
Every added connection changes height and leverage. Support the assembly and avoid top-heavy combinations.A secondary chamber can catch debris before it reaches the main water pipe and may add cooling or percolation.
